Our Community

The Pantry on Egmont is often referred to as a hidden gem. Tucked away in the back streets of Hawthorn, South Australia, we consider our little café to be the heart of our community. Much like your kitchen is the heart of your home.

We are passionate about the food we prepare, and always do so with our customers in mind. Whether they are dining in the café, collecting delicious Heat and Eat meals or grabbing a takeaway, we use only top quality ingredients. Some of these are sourced from our very own kitchen garden and even the gardens of our amazing customers. If you'd like to join our community, we'll gladly trade you coffee for your home-grown produce!

Our war on waste

We take the war on waste very seriously. We compost all of our food scraps, with much of it being donated to environmental conservation organisation Wormboy for composting. All of our take away packaging is biodegradable and compostable, plus we are very proud to say we are straw free!

We also donate our bottles to Scouts Recycling who use the funds to run youth development programs.

Community Giveback

We have a Pay it Forward Coffee Campaign which allows us to give a coffee to someone who is in need or struggling. It’s a small gesture that we hope helps brighten someone’s day.

Our Community Giveback program is our way of giving back to the community that supports us. We regularly fund raise for a different charity or local organisation.
